Sustainability Expert (m/f/d) -100% Remote

Your Daily Tasks: 

• Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies: Design and execute comprehensive sustainability programs and initiatives to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint across all operations.
• Environmental Impact Assessment: Conduct environmental assessments to identify and evaluate the impact of company operations, including energy usage, waste management, water consumption, and emissions.
• Policy Development & Compliance: Stay updated on local, national, and global environmental regulations and policies. Ensure that all operations and projects comply with environmental laws and standards.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and report environmental data to track sustainability performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and guide decision-making.
• Collaboration and Training: Work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions. Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about environmental practices.
• Sustainability Certifications & Standards: Support the company in obtaining relevant sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
• Sustainable Supply Chain Management: Evaluate and work with suppliers to ensure sustainable sourcing and practices in the supply chain.
• Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation: Collaborate on climate action projects, including greenhouse gas reduction plans, renewable energy initiatives, and strategies to address climate risks.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate sustainability goals and achievements to stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and the general public, through reports, presentations, and outreach.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience (4+ years) in environmental consulting, sustainability, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and best practices in sustainability.
• Languages with environmental reporting and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with sustainability certifications and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED, B Corp).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• A passion for environmental stewardship and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
