We are currently building our team and now searching for

Journalist (Spanish speaking) (m/f/d) – 100% Remote

Your daily tasks:

Story Sourcing & Development

  • Research and source compelling stories from newspapers, news agencies, and other reliable outlets, with a focus on New York City and Manhattan.
  •  Identify trending or unique topics that resonate with Spanish-speaking audiences and align with the organization’s content goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with news agencies, TV programs, and other media outlets to stay ahead of emerging stories and collaborations.

Translation & Content Creation

  • Translate English-language articles and reports into Spanish, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Adapt content for use in television video scripts, optimizing storytelling for visual media.
  • Write, edit, and proofread scripts to meet journalistic standards and appeal to Spanish-speaking viewers.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with editors, producers, and other team members to ensure that stories are effectively tailored for video content.
  • Answer telephone inquiries to facilitate collaboration with news agencies and handle basic processing tasks.
  • Provide input on editorial decisions, offering insights into story framing and spanish- language considerations

 

What we are looking for :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required if relevant experience is demonstrated.
  • 2-5 years in journalism, with a proven track record with News Agency/Television.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with excellent translation skills.
  • Languages covering New York City stories, with a deep understanding of Manhattan’s cultural and social dynamics.
  • Time Zone: Able to work during U.S. business hours.
  • Skills: Strong research, communication, and storytelling abilities.
  • Proficiency in creating video scripts for TV is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for editing and collaboration.
