Journalist (m/f/d) – (Mongolia-onsite)  

Your Mission:

We are seeking an independent and motivated Journalist with a strong interest in investigative reporting. The role involves researching, writing, and documenting complex topics, including governance, public accountability, and socio-political developments. The position requires curiosity, integrity, and the ability to work with sensitive information responsibly.

Your daily tasks:

  • Research, investigate, and write in-depth articles on social, political, and economic topics.
  • Conduct background research and fact-checking using reliable sources and data.
  • Investigate public-interest topics, including governance, transparency, and accountability issues.
  • Prepare well-structured written reports, articles, and analyses for publication.
  • Collect and document visual material through photography to support journalistic content.
  • Ensure accuracy, balance, and ethical standards in all published content.
  • Work independently while meeting editorial deadlines.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in journalism, reporting, or investigative writing.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Photography skills, including basic photo editing and visual documentation.
  • High level of curiosity and willingness to research sensitive and complex topics, including corruption-related cases and public-interest investigations.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of journalistic ethics, source protection, and confidentiality.
  • Fluency in Mongolian (written and spoken).
  • English reading and writing skills are a strong advantage.
