Role Purpose

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Expert to implement, operate, and optimize cloud services, primarily Microsoft Azure, in alignment with approved enterprise architecture, security standards, and Microsoft platform configurations.

This role owns cloud execution and operational stability, ensuring cloud workloads are reliable, cost-efficient, and correctly integrated with the on-premises datacenter in Germany.

This is not a cloud architect, security owner, or Microsoft identity role.
The Cloud Expert focuses on doing cloud right, not defining enterprise rules.

Scope of Ownership

The Cloud Expert owns execution and operational responsibility for:

• Cloud workloads (Microsoft Azure)
• Hybrid cloud connectivity (implementation only)
• Cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-SaaS integrations
• SharePoint Online ↔ ShareSuite integration (technical execution)
• Cloud performance, availability, and cost optimization
• Cloud automation and integration reliability

Explicit Role Boundaries (Important)

The Cloud Expert:

✅ Executes approved cloud designs

✅ Operates and stabilizes cloud workloads

✅ Optimizes cloud performance and cost

The Cloud Expert does NOT:

❌ Define enterprise architecture standards (Architecture Expert)

❌ Own identity, Entra ID, or Microsoft 365 configuration (Microsoft Expert)

❌ Own security policy, alerting, or attack simulations (IT Security Expert)

❌ Manage on-prem servers or Hyper-V (Server Expert)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Platform Execution (Azure)

Deploy, operate, and maintain Azure cloud workloads

Manage:

• Virtual machines
• App services or integration services (where applicable)
• Storage and networking components

Ensure cloud services meet:

• Availability requirements
• Performance expectations

Implement solutions strictly according to approved architecture designs

2. Hybrid Cloud Operations (Execution Only)

Implement approved hybrid connectivity between:

• On-premises datacenter (Germany)
• Microsoft Azure

Configure and operate:

• VPN connectivity
• Routing and traffic flows

Ensure stable hybrid service behavior and troubleshooting support

3. SharePoint Online ↔ ShareSuite Integration (Core Responsibility)

Implement and operate technical integrations between SharePoint Online and ShareSuite

Design and maintain:

• Secure connectivity mechanisms
• API-based or service-based integrations (execution only)

Ensure:

• Data synchronization reliability
• Performance and availability of integrations

Troubleshoot integration failures and coordinate with:

• Microsoft Expert (SharePoint Online platform)
• Application owners (ShareSuite)

Maintain integration documentation and runbooks

Note:
SharePoint Online configuration and governance remain owned by the Microsoft Expert.Security requirements remain owned by the IT Security Expert.

4. Cloud Operations & Reliability

Monitor cloud workloads and integrations for:

• Availability
• Performance

Act as Level 3 escalation for:

• Cloud execution issues
• Integration failures

Ensure backup and recovery mechanisms are implemented and tested for cloud services

5. Cloud Cost Management & Optimization

Monitor cloud and integration-related resource consumption

Identify:

• Over-provisioned resources
• Unused or inefficient services

Implement approved cost-optimization actions

Provide cloud cost insights to IT leadership

6. Automation & Integration Standardization

Automate cloud and integration deployments using:

• ARM templates
• Bicep
• Terraform (preferred)

Reduce manual configuration and integration drift

Improve repeatability and reliability of cloud integrations

7. Documentation & Operational Standards

Maintain:

Cloud deployment documentation

Integration architecture and flow diagrams

Operational runbooks

Ensure documentation reflects the actual implemented state

Support operational handover and knowledge transfer

8. Collaboration & Escalation

Work closely with:

Architecture Expert – follow approved designs

Microsoft Expert – align with SharePoint Online and Microsoft platform configurations

IT Security Expert – apply defined security controls

Server & Datacenter Expert – ensure hybrid consistency

Required Languages

8+ years in infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering roles

5+ years hands-on cloud execution experience (Azure preferred)

Proven experience with:

• Cloud-to-cloud or cloud-to-SaaS integrations
• Hybrid cloud environments

Strong troubleshooting and operational background
